For all those residing in HK, this is one meaningful project to take home this festive season.
The Save the Children HK organisation has launched a "Knit One, Save One" project.
Essentially to help Nepalese newborns stay warm and alive during the bitter cold winter spells, the project gets people to purchase a HKD$100-'knit kit' containing yarn, needles etc required to knit little woolly caps which will be sent to Nepal. Small as these caps may be, they are much needed in a country with harsh climates and where newborn death rates are very high. Many die from pneumonia because of lack of medications or access to medical facilities or even something as simple as warm clothing.
I can't sew for the life of me but for those who have those magic sewing fingers, do your bit for this worthy cause.
